  • Remove excess water from tofu by placing it in a colander that is over a bowl to catch the water. Place a piece of plastic wrap on top of the tofu. Put something with a little weight on top of the tofu. I used a large jar of minced garlic I had in the refrigerator. Do this the night before if you can.
  • I recommend taking the tofu out of the refrigerator and letting it come to room temperature before you make the burgers. This will help in the cooking process so that the inside cooks more evenly.
  • Squeeze any remaining water from the tofu and break it up into the smallest pieces you can into a medium sized bowl. You want it to look like a bowl of rice or quinoa.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and use your hands to really mix the ingredients.
  • Form 4-6 patties.
  • Place the olive oil in a frying pan and cook the patties over medium high heat for about 5 minutes on each side. You want them to be a nice golden brown.
  • Remove the patties and place them onto a plate covered with a paper towel.
  • Serve on your choice of bun and toppings.

Asian Style BBQ Sauce

  • Place ingredients into a small bowl and stir until full combined.
  • Use to top burger and/or to dip sweet potato fries.

Taste great with a side of baked sweet potato fries.

I recommend placing the tofu in a colander and then place the colander in a bowl. Cover the top of the tofu with plastic wrap and place something heavy on top of it to help remove the excess water. Do this the night before you are planning to make it. If there is too much moisture in the tofu, the burger won't hold together as well.
