Bananas Foster Turnovers

  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts
  • 2 medium bananas, sliced
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten


  1. Preheat oven to 375° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the banana, brown sugar and cinnamon. Toss to coat the bananas and set aside
  3. Cut twelve 4″ circles out of the pie crust and lay six of them on the parchment paper
  4. Brush the outer rim of the pie crust with egg wash
  5. Place a scoop of bananas in the middle of the pie crust and sprinkle with chopped pecans (optional)
  6. Brush egg wash to the underside rim of remaining pie crust and place on top of the filling
  7. Using the tongs of a fork, press the edges to seal the pies
  8. Brush the entire outside of the pie with egg wash and cut a slit on top of each pie to allow steam to escape while baking
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is light golden brown
  10. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream
