Now that fall is near, it’s time to start stocking up for all the baked goods you’re going to be making this season. Why not make your own pumpkin pie spice for a fraction of the pre-made store brands? Odds are, you probably have everything you need in your spice cabinet right now! If you didn’t know, pumpkin pie spice is a mixture of ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg and ground allspice. You just need to combine them in the right proportions.
Just mix the spices together and put them in a pretty jar or a plastic container. I doubled my recipe because I use this spice mixture frequently during the fall and winter. Happy baking!
- ¼ cup cinnamon
- 2 T ground ginger
- 2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp allspice (can substitute ground cloves)
- Mix spices together and put into a jar, plastic container or plastic ziploc bag
